Gas connectivity processes for the Holy Temples of Holy Metropolis of Thessaliotis and Phanariofersala have been concluded

Holy Metropolis of Thessaliotis and Phanariofersala had gas connection process of the Holy Temples of Karditsa and Farsala concluded with Gas Distribution Company Thessaloniki – Thessalia SA (EDA THESS), in a meeting held on Monday, October 29th, 2018. The meeting was attended by Metropolite Timotheos, as well as several holy fathers from the Holy Temples of the Metropolis, Mr. Leonidas Bakouras, General Manager of EDA THESS and Ms. Efthymia Kalogirou, EDA THESS Manager of Development and New Connections.

Metropolite Timotheos welcomed the excellent cooperation of the Holy Metropolis with EDA THESS, pointing out that some Holy Temples of Karditsa are already benefiting from gas, with great economic as well as greenhouse gas savings.

On behalf of EDA THESS, Ms. Efthymia Kalogirou, pointed out that the connection of the remaining Holy Temples shall be concluded by November 15th, 2018, while for those requiring network expansion, works shall be carried out early next year.

Finally, Mr. Leonidas Bakouras, General Manager of EDA THESS, referred to the significant work of Metropolite Timotheos for the fellow citizens of Karditsa and Farsala, underlining the fact that the Company supports such effort with its resources.

The municipal buildings of the Municipality of Meteora are connected to the gas network

Gas Connection Agreements for the 13 Municipal Buildings in Kalambaka, were signed in a meeting held on Monday 29.10.2018 between Municipality of Meteora and Gas Distribution Company Thessaloniki – Thessalia SA (EDA THESS). The meeting was attended by Mr. Christos Sinanis, Mayor of Meteora, Mr. Leonidas Bakouras, General Manager of EDA THESS, and Ms. Efthymia Kalogirou, EDA THESS Manager of Development and New Connections.

Mr. Christos Sinanis, Mayor of Meteora, stated that gas supply of the Municipal Buildings would contribute to the reduction of Local Government expenditures, which is feasible by such actions of immediate economic impact; while, at the same time, contribute to the reduction of air pollutants emissions. He also stressed the economic benefit of gas for the citizens – both households and businesses. He also referred to the excellent expansion planning in Kalampaka by EDA THESS, which citizens are strongly interested in.

Mr. Leonidas Bakouras, General Manager of EDA THESS, pointed out that the construction of the gas network in Kalampaka has proceeded significantly and supply is estimated to start around mid-November 2018.

Ms. E. Kalogirou provided evidence of the Kalampaka residents’ strong interest in gas; 1.650 connection applications have already been lodged, with the first consumers already contracted with EDA THESS. Network deployment shall continue aiming at covering most of the town of Kalampaka, according to the residents’ interest as recorded.

A meeting in parallel to the above mentioned one was held at the Holy Metropolis of Stagi and Meteora, attended by Metropolite Theoklitos, and the aforementioned stakeholders, Mr. Christos Sinanis, Mr. Leonidas Bakouras and Ms. Efthymia Kalogirou. In the debate held, Mr. Leonidas Bakouras expressed to Metropolite Theoklitos the EDA THESS intention to sign – over the upcoming period – connection agreements with the Holy Temples of the Holy Metropolis of Stagi and Meteora, in order the latter to benefit from the use of gas. In presence of the Local Authority and favourable to Mr. Leonidas Bakouras’ proposal, Metropolite Theoklitos expressed his willingness to have the new building of the Holy Metropolis and the Nursing Home of Metropolis of Stagi and Meteora gas supplied.   

The contacts held in the Municipality of Meteora were successful, aiming mainly at the gas network deployment in new areas, as well as ever expanding to new consumers.
